Obituary For Tena M Sample

Tena Sample, 78, of Rapid City, peacefully passed away on April 4th, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Tena was born on May 6th, 1943, to Ralph and Beulah Bennett in Atkinson Nebraska. She attended school in Mitchell South Dakota. After school she became a nurse’s aide in the Protestant Hospital where she worked until she met and married Stanley Sample. In 1963, she met Stanley Sample at Island Park in Miltown, South Dakota. Tena and Stanley were married September 13th, that year and went on to have 4 children. Tena enjoyed playing cards, fishing, gardening, cooking, putting together puzzles and spending quality time with her family. Tena was predeceased by her loving husband, Stanley Sample, her parents Ralph and Beulah Bennett and her brother Loren Bennett. She is survived by her children Peggy Johnston (Rick) of Rapid City SD, Stanley (LeRoy) Sample (Linda) of Fargo ND, Troy Sample (Shirley) Arvada CO, Teresa Squires of Rapid City SD. 7 grandchildren, Justin, Jason, Nathan, Kyle, Amanda, Drake, Tessa. 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild due later this year. Her siblings Melvin Bennett of OK, Warren Bennett (Betty Ann) of NC, Dale (Sharon) Bennett of MI, and Phyllis Westphal (Will) of OK.
