Obituary For Thelma Louise Fry

Thelma Louise (White) Fry, 87, made her journey home on October 19th, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Layton Utah. She was born in Lake City Arkansas, on 12/18/1932, to George Alfred and Edna (Jones) White. Thelma married Wilbur Fry in Rapid City on 05/01/1951; he preceded her in death on 05/10/1988. Thelma and Wilbur had three children: Calvin ‘Jr.’, and wife Diane, two children Brian and Stephanie; Betty (Wife) Tammy (Wife). Brenda, who married Ron Snyder; they had two daughters Robin and Tamara. Sabrina; who married Chris Groves, they had two children Christopher and Jessica. On 02/12/1993 Thelma married John Fry in Rapid City and was embraced by his children and grandchildren throughout the remainder of her life. Thelma and John shared their life together until he passed on 07/12/2003. Thelma worked for RCC for over twenty years until her retirement in 1993. She was an active member of the First Church of God where she served as treasurer of the Church for over 20 years and as the treasurer for the state’s WCG group for 11 years. She further dedicated her time to teaching Sunday school to younger children and helped out with bible camp. She contributed to a variety of charities every month. The Wounded Warrior Project was one that she felt a strong connection to; she was very patriotic. One of Thelma’s priorities was being with her family, she would invite them over to dinner and all would play games; her favorite being Hand and Foot. She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Fry) Snyder, Sisters Dorothy Esposito, Helen Olney, Cathryn Emerson, Frances Cersosimo, Linda Essary, Janet Amundson, Patricia Jones, Brothers Hal White and Lonnie White. She is preceded in death by her son, Calvin ‘Jr.’ Fry, daughter Sabrina (Fry) Groves, Brother Alfred White.
