Obituary For Thomas G Smith

Thomas Gene Smith, 61, of Black Hawk, passed away on June 28, 2022 at his home. Thomas was born February 9th, 1961, in Rapid City, SD, the son of James A. Smith and Margaret June (Konenkamp) Smith. He was raised in Rapid City, SD and graduated from Stevens High School. He was an avid athlete and excelled at many activities including:diving, wrestling, baseball, bowling, and fishing. He was a driven entrepreneur and had his own successful plastering business. Thomas was blessed with two children: Jessica and Brandon, and two grandchildren: Maddex and Brooklyn. Spending time in the company of family and friends was one of his favorite past times. He also enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos play each season. Thomas was an honorable man, a passionate father, and a supportive friend who was respected and loved by many. He touched numerous hearts with his generosity and had such a strong influence in people’s lives.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, James A. Smith; mother, Margaret June (Konenkamp) Smith; brother, Timothy Smith; brother, James Smith; sister, Maureen “Renee” A. (Smith) Reed; and brother, Daniel “Danny” Smith. Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter, Jessica Hewitt (Randy), Sioux Falls, SD; his son, Brandon Smith, Black Hawk SD; his sister, Susan Whealy, Piedmont, SD; his two grandchildren, Maddex and Brooklyn and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Your life was our blessing, and you will always live on through us.
