Obituary For Troy Donavon Hinz

Troy Donavon Hinz, 55, Rapid City, died at home Tuesday, November 12, 2019 after a long five-year battle with GBM Brain Cancer. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Sandie, of Rapid City; his mother, Arlene Hinz, of Baltic, SD; his twin sister Kelly Goetz, brother Randy Morin, sister Laurie Sullins; sons, Brandon Siewell (Tara) and Matt Lavin; daughters, Brandy Hinz (Cody Bohannon), Megan Ahlers (Ryan), Mallory Smith (Tyler); 11 granddaughters (soon to be 12) and 8 grandsons. Troy was born October 31, 1964 in Rapid City, SD, to Duane “Don” and Arlene Hinz. Troy worked for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs - VA Black Hills at the time of his death. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and a friend to so many! He loved God, riding his motorcycle and he served Veterans and our Country proudly! Troy retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1995. He is preceded in death by his father Duane “Don” C. Hinz, son Thomas Hinz; daughters Sarah Hinz and Heather Unser; brothers Brian Morin and Duane “Rusty” Hinz. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you and is so grateful to the staff of Cancer Care of Rapid City, Interim Health Care, and Rapid City Regional Hospice.
