Obituary For Vearl Emmett Peck

Vearl Emmett Peck, 87 passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Rapid City Regional Hospital from a respiratory illness.

Vearl was born near Baker, Montana on July 9, 1930 to Martha Schulz Peck and Emmett Peck. He was the oldest of 5 children.

The family moved to Camp Crook, SD. Vearl graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 1949 and served in the Marine Corps in Korea from 1949-1953, honorably discharged as a Tech Sergeant.

He and Joyce Liebsch were happily married for 64 ½ years and made their home in Rapid City. Vearl and Joyce were blessed with 4 wonderful daughters, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He worked for MDU for 35 years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed his family, his years working at MDU, many travels, his cabin in the hills, PBS and reading.

He was a man of faith who found comfort and fellowship at Zion Lutheran Church. He was a member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step parents, 1 brother, Harvey Peck and 1 sister, Mary Jane Peck.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife Joyce; daughters Carol Walling (D.R.), Gail Aadland (Craig), Barbara Shivers (Ken Kermu), Dianne Stoner (Mike); his sisters Elaine Molitor, his brother Dennett Peck (Deanna); grandchildren Aaron (Denise), Serena (Allen), Alyssa (Killian), Nicholas (Ericka), Andrew (Brittney), Renee (Travis), Lucas, Emma (Anthony), Ethan and great grandchildren Tristan, Hayden, Noah, Josh, Lilliana, and numerous nieces and nephews.
