Obituary For William D Flohr

On January 23, 2022, William ‘Bill’ Flohr peacefully passed away in Rapid City, SD with his loving wife and children at his side. He was 72 years old.

Bill is survived by his father, Rudy of Watertown, SD, brother Samuel of Rapid City, SD, his wife Sheryl (Triggs) Flohr, daughter Angela Young of Flower Mound, TX, and son Michael Flohr of Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by sister Gail and mother Mary.

Bill was born on August 7th, 1949 in Jacksonville, FL. He graduated from Rapid City High School in 1967. Bill made a life long commitment to serving the community as a peace officer, first with the City of Box Elder, then as Chief of Police in Keystone, followed by serving as a Deputy Sheriff (Sergeant) for Pennington County, SD. Prior to retiring, he helped many people as a Private Investigator through his business, Investigative Services Company.

He was known for being courageous, tenacious, loving, and loyal. He was optimistic about life and people. He valued integrity, work ethic, and education.

Bill and Sheryl were together for over 50 years. They shared a love of family, close friends, and were especially proud of their two grandchildren, Caitlin and Cameron Young. At Bill’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, he asked that friends and loved ones take care of each other.
