Obituary For William T. Krantz

William (Billy) Krantz, 64, passed away on July 4, 2024 in Rapid City, SD.

Bill was born in Agana Heights, Guam to William F. and Florencia Krantz on October 24, 1959. He was a military brat who graduated from Edgemont High School in 1977. He married the love of his life, Barbara Larson, on May 20, 2018 in Rapid City. Bill was an industrial welder for many years after being honorably discharged from the Marines.

Bill was an outdoor enthusiast. He loved to fish, hunt, and was the founder of car-camping. He enjoyed woodworking, knife sharpening, loved to tinker, and watch sunrises.

Grateful for having had the privilege of sharing his life are his wife Barb, his brothers, Richard and wife Gena Krantz of Tucson, AZ, Bob Lands of Nine Mile Falls, WA, his sisters, Linda and her husband Dale Hjelseth of Piedmont, SD, Sandy and her husband Dave Miller of Rapid City, SD, and Karen and husband Michael Dargan of San Antonio, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and sister Tina Lands.

A graveside service with full military honors provided by the United States Marine Corps and VFW Post #1273 will be held on July 10, 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
