Obituary For Wolfio E. Madrid

Wolfio EriVes Madrid was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on June 17, 1955. His family moved to New York City when he was one year old, and to Phoenix, Arizona, where he completed high school and vocational school. Although he loved adventuring to distant places across this country, he eventually settled in Rapid City, because he loved “his Black Hills,” and said they always called him home. He worked in the construction and landscaping trades, where he made many lifelong “work-families and friends.” He always showed up with a kind word, a smile, and a willingness to work hard and help wherever needed. He loved the quietness of nature, being stranded outdoors, his solitude, his friends, and work-families. He lived his life the way he wanted, uncomplicated and unencumbered by the material world, always striving to find peace, happiness, and joy in each and every day.

He leaves behind his daughter, Allison Wilkinson McDaniel, granddaughters Hunter Engel and Ryleigh Ring, and special friends, Gorgie Paulhamus, Joshua Knock, and Doree Plume, Leta Has No Horse, and his many lifelong friends and work-families in Rapid City.
